Crizal Anti-Glare Lenses
Light can be both beneficial and harmful to your health. On a positive note, light is fundamental for general vision, color perception, memory, basic mental functioning, and balancing the sleep-wake cycle. On a negative note, UV light adds a risk factor for eye diseases, including cataracts, and blue-violet light can be harmful to retinal cells and is one of the risk factors for the onset of age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
At Bayview Optical we recommend Crizal Anti-Glare lenses. These lenses are resistant to glare, scratches, smudges, and UV light, and they give you the clearest vision possible.
Our favorite lenses are Crizal Prevencia, Crizal Sapphire 360º, and Crizal Avancé.
Crizal Prevencia No-Glare Lenses
Crizal Prevencia No-Glare Lenses which provide revolutionary protection for your eyes because they block blue light from entering your eyes. Where is the blue light coming from? Blue light is emitted by electronics (computers and smart phones) and energy-efficient light bulbs such as compact fluorescent bulbs and LED lights.
Crizal Prevencia is designed to filter out harmful light and let beneficial light enter. These blue light filtering lenses deflect harmful Blue-Violet Light by 20% and have an Eye-Sun Protection Factor of 25. This means that your eyes have 25 times more UV protection than if you were not wearing any lenses at all.
Crizal Prevencia No-Glare blue light lenses work in three ways, they:
- selectively filter out harmful light (Blue-Violet & UV).
- allow beneficial light to pass through (visible light, including Blue-Turquoise).
- maintain excellent transparency (clear No-Glare lens) for optimal vision at all times.
